电子鼻可用于检测肺部疾病(肺癌、肺结核)、糖尿病、尿毒症和细菌感染(厌氧菌、耳鼻喉感染细菌、不同类型的金黄葡萄球菌、伤口微生物感染)。电子鼻作为一种无创的、快速诊断技术在疾病的早期诊断筛查及微生物感染的快速检测方面具有重要的临床应用价值。Cyranose 320电子鼻主要由传感器阵列和数据分析算法两部分组成,其基本技术是将若干个独特的薄膜式碳-黑聚合物复合材料化学电阻器配置成一个传感器阵列,然后采用标准的数据分析技术,通过分析由此传感器阵列所收集到的输出值的办法来识别未知分析物
Cyranose 320中的知识产权在美国和全球拥有超过60项专利,用于传感器技术,探测器产品和eNose应用。2002年获得FDA批准测量尿路感染.
